With the number of freelancers in UK creative industries continuing to rise and creative graduates facing a difficult job market, Co-operatives UK, the national trade body that campaigns for co-operation, has launched Creative Co-operatives, a new guide and website.

Aimed at freelancers, the self-employed, creative students and recent creative graduates, Creative Co-operatives give practical advice on setting up a co-operative with other like minded individuals, covering finance, legal structures and the different types of co-operative models.

It tells the story of people who’ve ‘been there done it’ in creative co-operatives and offers some interesting perspectives on the future of the creative industries, including Peter Jenner best known for managing Pink Floyd and now Billy Bragg on the music scene.

Creative Co-operatives will be of interest to anyone dealing with those likely to set up in the creative industries – creative course tutors and lecturers, careers and business advisors and trade unions.
