Community Right to Buy funds – comparison between England & Wales

We wrote to English and Welsh Ministers to see what could be done to capitalise on the English Ministerial Commitment to support a Community Right to Buy, in a Welsh context. The Welsh response did not raise implementation or interim measures but simply outlined current support available pending future legislation.

England now has  “a Pride in Place Community Right to Buy Fund’ backed by £61m. that aims to empower communities by utilising part of the £300 m. previously allocated to support High Streets and community spaces across England and will directly support communities to take advantage of the new community right to buy … created by the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Act 2026. Details of the fund are still being developed. More information will be available in due course.”
